Local SEO is usually priced according to the work required, not simply the number of keywords on a spreadsheet. A single-location business with a healthy site needs a different plan from a company covering several Florida markets with duplicate pages, indexing problems or a large service catalog.
To make this useful, we show Tide & Type's own published monthly SEO starting prices and explain what changes the scope. These numbers are not presented as an average of Florida SEO agencies or a promise about what competitors charge. Exact inclusions, usage, terms and fees belong in your signed proposal.
Published local SEO pricing at Tide & Type
| Monthly plan | Starting investment | Best fit and published scope |
|---|---|---|
| Local SEO | $900/month | One primary market or service area, up to 10 priority keyword and topic targets, one SEO content asset per month, Google Business Profile work and core SEO monitoring. |
| SEO Growth | $1,500/month | Up to three target markets, up to 25 priority search targets, two to three content assets per month, deeper audits, competitor research and conversion tracking. |
| SEO Authority | $2,500/month | More competitive or multi-market programs, up to five target markets and 50 priority targets, four or more content assets per month and advanced planning and measurement. |
These are the starting rates in our current SEO plans and pricing as of November 2026. The published plan description, not a simplified article summary, controls what is listed on the site; scope and final deliverables are confirmed in a proposal. SEO is separate from paid Google Ads media budgets and is not a guarantee of first-page positions, calls or revenue.
Why two Florida businesses may need different SEO budgets
One service area versus several markets
A company serving customers from an Ormond Beach base may need a strong business profile, an accurate website and a small set of high-value pages. A firm serving Daytona Beach, Port Orange, New Smyrna Beach and DeLand may have additional relevant search intents to address. More city pages are not automatically better: each should provide distinct, useful information that reflects the real service area.
Website condition and technical debt
Some websites need only focused on-page improvements. Others have orphaned services, incorrect canonical tags, blocked pages, outdated redirects or forms that never reach the sales team. A migration from WordPress to a different platform may justify technical assessment before producing new blog posts. Content quantity alone will not repair a site that is difficult to crawl or use.
Competition and buying intent
“Best restaurant near me,” “commercial IT support” and “custom website design” represent different customer needs and competitive landscapes. The relevant work starts with the questions and services that lead to real customers, not a guarantee that a fixed number of search phrases will rank.
Google Business Profile eligibility
Not every business qualifies for the same business profile setup. A storefront, a service-area company and a multi-location operator must follow the applicable Google rules. Google's Business Profile guidelines require genuine locations and real-world business information. Buying an SEO plan cannot create a legitimate office or override location eligibility requirements.
Content production and measurement needs
Publishing helpful answers, rewriting important service pages, mapping internal links, checking indexing and reviewing qualified enquiries take time. A plan that includes more content assets may cost more, but quantity is not the purpose. Google recommends people-first content that genuinely helps readers, not automated pages built only to target keywords.
What should a monthly local SEO proposal include?
Ask for a clear explanation of the scope and what you will see each month. Depending on the business and package, useful deliverables include:
- Initial diagnosis: review of relevant service queries, website health, important URLs and real target areas.
- Local presence: accurate Google Business Profile categories, service information and applicable business details.
- Technical improvements: indexing, canonical, structured-data, redirect and internal-link priorities.
- On-page work: useful service descriptions and information addressing customer questions.
- Content plan: a defined number of meaningful assets, not a promise to publish low-value city pages.
- Reporting: visibility and enquiries, with honest limitations if analytics or CRM attribution is incomplete.
Google explains that local visibility depends on relevance, distance and prominence. An agency can improve accurate information and customer-facing content, but cannot buy a particular organic map ranking or control how far away searchers are from your business.
Is SEO a one-time project or a monthly service?
A one-time audit or migration cleanup may be appropriate when there is a specific technical problem. A monthly arrangement makes more sense when you need ongoing content, monitoring, service-page refinements and market evaluation. These are different scopes. Ask whether the agency's proposal includes implementation, periodic reporting, profile management and actual changes to your site.
A basic website rebuild is also a separate project. If the site needs substantial UX, development or lead-capture work, compare web design and development alongside the SEO scope instead of treating the monthly SEO fee as an unlimited development retainer.
How to compare local SEO quotes without getting misled
- Ask what is included for the exact monthly amount and whether there is a setup fee or minimum term.
- Define which eligible locations and search intents are in scope.
- Review the starting website condition and realistic implementation priorities.
- Ask who approves and owns published content and business profile changes.
- Understand which reporting sources will be used: Search Console, analytics, business profile and CRM.
- Ask what happens if the agency recommends a new city page or link placement. What useful evidence supports it?
- Reject guaranteed ranking, guaranteed map placement and unsupported lead-volume claims.
A practical example: local service company versus multi-market company
Consider two hypothetical situations—not client results. A home-services business with one primary market may start by correcting its eligible profile, building one clear set of service pages and testing phone enquiries. A company with distinct teams or service demand in multiple cities may need deeper local content planning, several relevant service-area explanations and more complex reporting. The second situation involves more work, but not an automatic need to create a separate Google Business Profile for every city served.
The useful outcome of comparing prices is a defined scope, measurable customer actions and a reasoned plan. See our SEO services and methodology for the work behind these packages.
